Wisconsin State Fair Park

Design to accommodate the environmental challenges of the landscape

In association with RTKL and Economic Research Associates, EUA created a master plan providing a more consistent look and feel enabling the Wisconsin State Fair to thrive for more than a decade. The total scope consisted of modernizing several original structures and designing the state-of-the-art Wisconsin Exposition Center.

EUA worked with the client to replace the outdated existing exhibit halls with modern, easy set up and accessible exhibit hall spaces to accommodate up to 3 simultaneous shows. EUA faced the challenge of designing the expo hall over the “Honey Creek Culvert,” which radiuses below the floor on the South exhibit hall space. In close coordination with stakeholders, designers, engineers and contractors, the team provided a solution to the structural puzzle, allowing the space to meet the desired area of exhibit hall space. To meet the timeline, EUA helped expedite the design phase to move quickly into construction allowing for the opening of the building for the 2002 Wisconsin State Fair.
