Sustainable Facility for Technology-Based Incubation Businesses
As the first project within the Whitewater University Technology Park, the Innovation Center's mission is to provide space, facilities, expertise and services to entrepreneurs starting technology-based businesses. The challenge for EUA was to provide flexible, sustainable modules that are adaptable to future uses.
The new, two-story building serves commercial and incubator tenants offering wet lab space and a flexible configuration for its users. Bright, open conference rooms and shared meeting spaces encourage collaboration and facilitate university knowledge sharing and mentorship across a broad range of disciplines.
EUA helped the Innovation Center achieve its goal of setting the standard for sustainable and responsible design for future developments within the technology park.
Sustainable Features: geoexchange HVAC system, 20 KW photovoltaic (PV) roof system, stormwater biofiltration, native landscaping over 25% of the site, highly-recycled content building materials, 75% of the construction waste diverted from landfills.
