Blending campus style into a modern design
The project included a cost/benefit analysis of retrofitting a traditional 1960’s residence hall into an apartment style facility. Ultimately, it was shown that a new facility would be more cost effective. Reuter Hall’s typical unit contains four bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room. State-of-the-art energy efficient mechanical systems include a heat recovery system while building aesthetics are sensitively designed, utilizing color, material, detailing, and massing composed to complement existing well-loved historical buildings on campus.
