School District of Auburndale
Expand career + tech ed spaces to prepare next generation with real-world, hands-on experience
EUA worked with the School District of Auburndale to complete a facilities assessment and master plan to address infrastructure needs and renovated learning spaces. In November 2020, the community voted to successfully pass a $6.9M facilities referendum.
The elementary school projects focused on capital maintenance, upgrading bathrooms to be ADA-compliant and renovating the Little Theater. In addition to capital maintenance projects at the middle/high school, a large focus was to update and renovate the Technical, Agricultural and Family & Consumer Education (FACE) learning spaces. The expanded spaces include a four-bay auto lab for a growing autos program, a renovated agricultural space with a new greenhouse to enhance their robust food science program and an updated construction lab. These spaces will provide needed project-based, hands-on experiences for students as they explore careers in the tech, agricultural or trade fields.
