Rockwell Automation Work Café

In their ongoing effort to create a workplace of choice, EUA worked with Rockwell Automation to renovate the cafeteria at their Milwaukee headquarters into an inviting, multi-use work café. The transformation created a new destination space for employees to use throughout the work day not only for dining purposes, but for informal meetings or as an alternate place to work. A three-sided, glass Harvest Room separates the main dining area into two zones to make the space feel more intimate and scaled to smaller groups. Throughout the work café, acoustic panels and furniture solutions like high-back booths, three- to four-person pods and partially enclosed spaces create pockets of semi-privacy. Additional technology-rich meeting spaces, including a lounge area and a community / reading room, provide employees with a variety of flexible places to support work style preferences and project needs.

A focus of this space was to incorporate Rockwell branding throughout and to celebrate the inclusive global culture of the company and its history of innovation. A richly layered, 75 ft long mural commissioned by a local artist serves as a linking element of the work café, while an existing mosaic mural was carefully restored and incorporated as an integral springboard for the overall design. A modern and welcoming palette creates an energetic environment while bringing in natural daylight through clerestory windows helps to brighten up the café.
