Oconomowoc Area School District – Meadow View Elementary School
Implement flexible environments for collaborative learning
Replacing the previous elementary school located within a 1961 seminary building, Oconomowoc Area School District's new Meadow View Elementary School features forward-thinking, collaborative learning environments.
The new elementary school was designed with an emphasis on contemporary learning environments through increased daylighting, a focus on collaboration and a high degree of flexibility able to support their current and future learning needs. Classrooms are placed within the interior spaces using movable glass walls to improve visibility as well as increase natural light into the classrooms. Along the perimeter flexible furniture and space planning creates breakout areas for teachers to be able to open up their classroom walls to connect with the collaboration spaces and enlarge their learning space.
Honoring their past, the school features stained glass from the previous building and is designed to blend with the surrounding architecture and prairie landscape, creating a welcoming building for the community.
