Northwestern Mutual – Van Buren Office
Departing from a traditional environment and culture and proclaiming 21st century trajectory and market leadership
Continuing our long standing relationship with Northwestern Mutual (NM), EUA set out to help the NM team visualize and renovate a cutting edge aesthetic for their new corporate office spaces.
Renovating the Van Buren building is the first stage of NM’s expansion of its downtown campus. The company had purchased the building in early 2013 and was looking for a design partner who could quickly develop a solution. The renovation of this space went deeper than design, involving an evolution in the organization’s mindset from their typical facility standards to a new open design concept to inspire productive discourse throughout the workday.
The team designed creative solutions to the project’s challenges, with special attention given to acoustics making sure design elements were introduced to dissipate noise levels. EUA also created full 3D drawings of the building systems to minimize problems during construction.
