Menasha Joint School District – High School

Setting the standard for learning while preserving the historic character of the school

EUA worked extensively with Menasha School District for more than three years to guide them through the facility study process to establish key facts and broad understanding, culminating in a master plan and renovated high school. Originally built in 1937, EUA renovated and designed an addition to this existing high school that preserved the historic structure while also transforming the school into a modern learning environment. The existing iconic Georgian-style building facade and entrances were restored to bring the building back to its former beauty.

The enhanced building serves the school’s diverse socioeconomic population through the addition of active learning and collaborative spaces, improved building accessibility and the addition of music and science wings. Numerous openings between floors improve daylight distribution and increase student connectivity. The design incorporates exposed brick from existing walls, re-purposed wood floors and concrete columns with other natural materials to create a modern industrial style that complements the existing Menasha High School’s architectural aesthetic.
