HSA - Silver Cross MOB
Design that meets branding standards while giving individuality to the space
HSA Commercial engaged EUA to design a 40,000 sq ft two-story medical office building adjacent to the Silver Cross Medical campus in New Lenox, Illinois. EUA master planned the site to include a medical office building and a potential future two-story 50,000 sq ft wellness / fitness facility. The new medical office building was designed to allow 12,000 square feet of first floor space for the immediate relocation of Silver Cross Medical Group’s Primary Care, Urgent Care and Occupational Health from the hospital campus –to relieve pressure at the main hospital and provide for service expansion at the MOB. The MOB site further allows for easy truck access for Occupational Health patients affiliated with local manufacturing and transportation companies. The remainder of the building was organized to allow maximum flexibility for future potential tenants.
EUA balanced HSA Commercial’s goals within Silver Cross’s overall development strategy in order to support both. The exterior design integrated building materials found on the overall Silver Cross campus to visually expand the campus. Distinguished by a signature two-toned precast concrete palette, EUA differentiated the precast panel design to give the MOB its own identify while respecting the campus ‘brand’. A bold drop-off canopy design aids in wayfinding, provides sheltered drop off for patients and visually highlights the healthcare building when the future expansion occurs.
