Converting an urban rooftop into a center for tranquility above the city
The spa facility at Hotel Metro was designed with pampering and relaxation in mind. The project included the conversion of one guest room into a spa entry with a massage room, along with the addition of a rooftop deck to the top of the six-story building.
The rooftop addition is a zen-like experience with saltwater whirlpool, sauna, exercise room, and multi-purpose room with a refreshment bar. The bar provides a refreshing location for yoga classes, social gatherings and business meetings. Guests can enjoy sweeping views of the Downtown Milwaukee skyline and linger in the garden air among plantings and the soothing sounds of the water feature. The outdoor decor showcases a waterfall and petite pond, surrounded by teak wood furniture and greenery filled with bright, colorful flowers. Originally built in the 1930s, the rooftop renovations reflect the modern space that has been seamlessly integrated with the overarching vintage feel that the hotel possesses.
