HarborChase of Shorewood
Facilitating multiple parties to find a solution that works for all
EUA provided local representation and full architectural services for Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA), a national assisted living provider, during HRA’s Midwest expansion efforts into its first Wisconsin location. Throughout the process, EUA played a key role in the facilitation between municipalities, sub-committees and HRA to develop and propose solutions that worked for all parties involved.
The new site provides residents a variety of living options, including apartment-style assisted living and a memory care-specific component. With an “urban lodge” feel that fits in well with the surrounding environment and the community’s quality-of-life goals, HarborChase of Shorewood’s new construction shies away from traditional assisted living facilities. Designed around a hospitality-based service model with person-centered care, EUA utilized our extensive design experience to help HRA integrate three primary components wellness, choice and technology.
The final design blends a mix of suburban and urban inspirations. Green space and natural lighting were heavily incorporated into the design to make the space as comfortable and inviting as possible, including a separate courtyard for memory-care patients.
