Green Technology Training & Enterprise Center
Energy-saving technologies are featured in this state-of-the-art training facility
Inspiring the community and region, the Green Technology Training & Enterprise Center's (Green TTEC) mission and purpose is to provide regional workforce training in green building for green energy trades. With community spirit and a clear vision, the village of just 771 people engaged in monumental effort and commitment to future generations by constructing this unique training center.
EUA created a new building that shares great design and advanced energy-saving technologies within and around its flexible spaces and natural setting on the rolling prairie. The sustainable design is timeless while being thoughtful to scale and proportion in a small building outside a rural village.
Natural and renewable materials like stone, brick and wood were used in the design of this facility. The use of these materials complements building details giving off warmth and a strong presence. Active sustainable features used include photovoltaic solar panels, a Geoexchange HVAC system, hydronic radiant floor heating, LED lighting and automated operable windows. A few passive sustainable elements were also used including structural insulated wall panels, a Trombe wall, green roofs and bio swales.
