Foxconn Electronics – Data Center

Design a unique all-glass sphere with flexible + functional workplace environments within

Foxconn’s High Performance Computing Data Center (HPCDC) is an iconic 100-foot tall globe.

The eye-catching three-story structure is not only an iconic visitor building featuring a two-story entrance, but also houses offices and the command center for Foxconn’s data center buildings as well as their Network Operations Center (NOC). The first floor was designed to be open allowing for flexibility in its use as a display area or transitioned into an auditorium that can accommodate over 250 people for tech talks.

EUA conducted multiple sustainability studies at project onset to address user comfort and code requirements due to the primarily glass facade. The final design uses a micro dot frit pattern ceramic coating on the glass surface to minimize solar gain and direct sun exposure as well as a chilled beam HVAC system to meet efficiency standards.
