Fox Valley Technical College – Public Safety Training Center

Elevating the skills of future public safety officials through simulated training areas

EUA partnered with Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) to design the first comprehensive cold-weather climate public safety training center in the midwest. The facility supports more than 3,500 safety personnel and college students and over 10,000 training attendees each year.

The new development includes various features designed to elevate the skill levels of future public safety officials. Showcase both indoor and outdoor training areas, the facility includes a decommissioned Boeing 727 airliner, train derailment site, 2-acre pond, three outdoor firing ranges and a mock community, which are all used to train students for real-life emergency situations. The space contains multiple resizable classrooms for teaching and external rental for certification training. Wth the facility removed from the main FVTC campus, the design team included collaboration zones throughout the building to maintain the consistency of a campus-like environment.
