Fox Valley Technical College – Jones Dairy Farm Culinary Theatre
State-of-the-art space to support real-time culinary demonstrations and hands-on learning
EUA partnered with Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) to create the first culinary teaching facility of its kind in Wisconsin. Through a $66.5 million referendum, this new theater supports a culinary arts program that has received exemplary accreditation by the American Culinary Federation.
FVTC’s board wanted their new space to be inclusive, inviting and attractive. EUA designed transformational additions with strong natural light and incorporated modern details and finishes that blended the old and new facilities on campus.
The theater features a demonstration kitchen and large video monitors to optimize viewing of the real-time presentations. A shared opening between the theater pantry and the FVTC lobby allows for students and visitors to enjoy the epicurean delights. The lobby features vertical door lifts designed to align and blend in with the surrounding wall panels when closed.
In addition to creating a positive environment for the college to recruit, maintain and assist with enhancing the workforce, the space is also used for public outreach programs and cooking demonstrations. The facility serves as a general lecture room for campus-wide programs and occasionally constituent community events. Since it’s opening in the fall of 2012 the program has maintained full occupancy.
