Create a model to highlight + demonstrate key advantages of their approach

Fincantieri is one of the world’s largest shipbuilders with 20 shipyards on four different continents. The Fincantieri Marinette Marine shipyard has a long-standing relationship with the US Navy and was invited to compete for a new class of guided-missile frigates. The team was asked to help Fincantieri by creating materials that demonstrate some of the key advantages of their approach to the US Navy. The team worked closely with Fincantieri’s resources to develop a physical and interactive model of the shipyard as well as a 3D animation of the manufacturing process to illustrate several key advantages of the Fincantieri approach, including modular manufacturing, efficient movement of materials, security control and the ability to manufacture multiple ships simultaneously.

Multiple models were developed and showcased for various government audiences to secure Navy approval, local and state support and workforce development. In May of 2020, Fincantieri Marinette Marine was awarded the US Navy FFG-62 contract which could result in building 20 frigates.
