Highlight company's brand using historic structural elements within the office space

The Expera corporate office project is an outstanding example of historic re-purposing and continued presence of a legacy employer in the fabric of a small town Wisconsin community.

The historic Eagle Mill sits on the edge of downtown Kaukauna overlooking the scenic Fox River. This 19th century building once served as a production mill and was the birthplace of Expera’s Thilmany Mill. The challenge was to place their corporate office staff in a facility which also serves as the public library while providing Expera their own brand identity to clients, vendors and employees.

The outcome is a spectacular new office environment with a focus on character, collaboration and natural light. The solution includes use of the historic structural volume highlighting heavy timber truss framing and natural daylight monitors. The office space was designed to enhance the newly formed Expera brand mixing in elements of wood, water and paper with an emphasis on customer and employee experiences.
