Emily Griffith Opportunity School
Celebrating the past while creating the future
Emily Griffith Opportunity School was founded in 1916 by Emily Griffith, a school teacher who was driven to break barriers to higher education by opening a technical college in Denver. The school has since expanded into the Emily Griffith Technical College and into a larger location in Denver, and its former historic 1920’s building is being redeveloped into a boutique hotel.
As a consultant on the project, EUA led Denver Public Schools through the listing process and, once purchased, we worked with Stonebridge Properties, the new owner, to navigate the tax credit process. We consulted with Stonebridge and their design team to ensure the building’s identity was preserved and that significant, historic elements were incorporated in the design.
