Elkhorn Area School District – High + Middle School

Enhance programming + curriculum offerings through updated learning environments, agility center + athletic field improvements

The Elkhorn community passed a series of referenda for District-wide improvements and renovations to enhance teaching spaces and meet current standards. At the middle school, renovations consisted of upgrades to the kitchen spaces, as well as the underutilized home economic spaces, reclaiming the space for additional educational programming.

Projects at the high school included the renovation of the building entry, expansion of the school commons and various enhancements for career and encore learning spaces. Some of these spaces include expansion of art, technical education and agricultural spaces, a new greenhouse, renovation of science and business spaces and renovated Project Lead the Way and engineering spaces.

Additionally, a new free standing Agility Center was created, with space large enough for a 50-yard football field, a separate multi-purpose activity space and a fitness center. The facility is used for physical education, athletic practices, community events and general student wellness.
