Douglas County School District – Cantril Building
Implement building upgrades while maintaining historic sensitivity
Douglas County School District hired EUA to assist them in preparing a State Historical Fund Grant Application. The grant application was for the preparation of construction documents for the rehabilitation of the exterior of the building, as well as upgrade plumbing and HVAC systems in the historic building. The grant application was successful, and construction documents were completed in Fall of 2020 for the rehabilitation of the exterior stone, wood windows and decorative wood eaves. In addition to the construction documents, EUA supported the District’s efforts to inform and engage the community in the history of the building as well as the scope of the work. Additional grants are being pursued to complete the construction.
In 2020, Jane Crisler and Kelly Wemple completed drawings for stone and window restoration at the building through a State Historical Fund grant.
