Confidential High-Tech Manufacturing Client*
Design a fabrication space for mixed hazardous occupancy while working closely with the general contractor
The design-build delivery methodology was key to the success of multiple construction projects on this confidential client’s campus. The most significant projects included a 194,000 sq ft addition to the semiconductor fabrication plant (while keeping the adjacent clean rooms in operation), campus master planning and a new 135,000 sq ft Building 3, which included cleanrooms, office floor and a campus distribution center.
A major driver across these projects was a fast track design and construction schedule to facilitate an accelerated time to market. Pull planning was utilized to develop a detailed work plan, which effectively communicated the overall process and critical milestones to the entire design-build and client team. The facility engineering leads were active participants throughout the project, including the weekly BIM coordination meetings. The design was driven by functionality, while providing an efficient, comfortable and safe work environment for the staff.
