Implementing workplace strategy to elevate engagement + create highly effective work environments
Starting with a Workplace Strategy study, EUA conducted surveys and onsite observations to identify issues in the client’s current workspace. Identifying needs for improvement in workplace effectiveness and employee engagement, the team used their findings as a basis in the redesign of the office.
With a strong connection and over 100-year history in Oakland, the design takes inspiration from the urban industrial heritage of the City and infuses the impression of home into the workplace through textures, furniture and branding. Private offices were eliminated to increase transparency and encourage collaboration across all levels of the company while polarized glass maintains the privacy needed. A community stair and café provide social spaces for employees to connect, conduct informal meetings or unwind. Several lounge areas deemed “living rooms” feature fireplaces and emanate a residential feel, inspiring employees to work in the space.
