Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott is a Denver law firm that prides itself on serving a high-profile clientele with low-profile trademark. In order to capture their intense focus on pure performance over aesthetic, the design team began by abandoning any notion of "style." In doing so, a new "Bartlit Beck style" emerged that capitalizes on their own individuality and acts as a symbolic statement of their values. The space exudes restraint and refinement, and the handcrafted details and natural materials punctuate the space with a powerful message of precision and warmth.

All the attorneys are now on one floor together, physically reinforcing their lateral structure. Balancing acoustic isolation with visual transparency, and harmonizing understated design with precision details was paramount. The wood spine wall defines the primary circulation, and is punctuated with a river boulder at the entry to convey the attorney's joy for living in Colorado.
