Baird – Janesville
Transform a historically significant building to a modern work environment
Outgrowing their original space, the Janesville branch of Baird relocated to the historically significant Carriage Company Building. Originally built in 1886, the building was formerly a factory for carriages and wagons and is now of the few remaining landmark buildings in the area.
Creating visibility throughout the open office concept the private offices located around the perimeter feature floor-to-ceiling interior facing glass walls. Preserving the historic character of the building, area rugs were used in lieu of carpet, the drop ceiling was kept exposed and industrial light fixtures were integrated that speak to the context of the building.
Working within the long-standing structures conditions, EUA worked with the client to ensure their unique programming needs were met while building a modern office that is in line with the Baird corporate standards.
