Aspirus Riverview Hospital

Design that addresses the growing needs of the community

Aspirus Riverview is expanding their hospital campus with a new 17,000 sq ft emergency department and 21,000 sq ft, 10-suite birthplace and is currently master planning to confirm the second phase of implementation of the previous master plan. With a projected 25% increase in annual visits, the emergency department reduces future capacity constraints by centralizing the care team and identical non-trauma rooms for streamlined workflow. Specialized equipment carts are located in staff areas for ease of access and transfer into patient rooms. Expanding the women’s center addresses a projected 40% birthing capacity increase due to a new strategic physician alignment with the hospital.

EUA is continuing to work with the hospital team to validate future departmental programs. One strategy being explored is relocating the existing ICU to be adjacent to Med/Surg beds. This would allow for increased flexibility in staffing and free up existing real estate for other uses.
