Ascension (formerly Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare) partnered with the Schroeder YMCA to develop a Healthy Village concept. The facility provides visitors with exercise facilities, classes and medical specialists in one location, emphasizing the roles of lifestyle and prevention in personal health.
EUA designed the outpatient clinic and double-height lobby, which is daylit by generous clerestory windows in a patient-focused and environmentally-sustainable manner. The lobby serves as a common point of entry for the clinic and YMCA, and provides a space for patients, clinicians, members, and staff to interact.
