Ascension Wisconsin Health Center - Mount Pleasant

A new site + a new model of care focusing on expanding services in the community

In order to capitalize on the growing workforce in this industrial area, speed-to-market was a major driver for this new clinic and ambulatory surgery center (ASC). The new facility consolidates several services into one location while expanding imaging and outpatient services in the community.

Working within the Ascension standards, the planning maximizes patient convenience and staff efficiency. First floor departments are organized around a large, daylit waiting area with clear entries to the various services. The second floor surgery center has six operating rooms and three procedure rooms. All ASC recovery rooms are fitted as PACU rooms to reduce patient movement and increase efficiency.

An innovative reception layout creates a patient focused retail feel during the registration process. Standard exam room layouts allowed the building shell to advance quickly while interior planning was confirmed. The result is a distinctive building with flexible planning that provides the best experience for patients and staff while allowing for future flexibility as care needs change in this fast-growing community. The team met the speed to the market goal with the design and construction duration lasting a mere 16 moths from programming to occupancy.
