Ascension Mequon Clinic
Designing a State-of-the-Art Facility with a Neighborhood Environment
As a result of the expanding patient population, the former clinic located across the street no longer served the surrounding community. EUA planned a larger clinic to meet the health system standards and provide care at a greater capacity. Additional exam rooms and clinic and staff support spaces allows for expanded patient services and a growing medical training partnership with nearby Concordia University.
A catalyst building for the City of Mequon’s updated master plan, the clinic was designed to fit contextually in the rural area. The building mimics an old farmstead by manipulating the roof forms, building mass and the careful composition of stone, siding and brick. Individual clinics are represented in the separate roof forms, but operate as one unified building. The building is set back from a major intersection where the city is planning a civic monument sign for the new district and an extension of the bike neighborhood path.
