Ascension Franklin Hospital Cath + EP Lab

Transforming a vacated wing following campus repositioning to provide further patient care

Along with the new Cardiovascular OR, this Catheterization/Electrophysiology (EP) lab offers full cardiac diagnostic and treatment capabilities, furthering heart care offerings and the ability to provide comprehensive care.

After relocating clinical functions to the on-campus MOB completed by EUA in 2014, the vacated wing was completely renovated to include two catheterization labs, one with added EP procedure capabilities, and one shelled lab ready for future expansion, all lead-lined for X-ray protection. Adjacent equipment storage rooms, prep/recovery rooms and shared reception/waiting area reduce staff footprints and create maximum efficiency.

Two large windows with a motorized blind systems allow easy sterilization when closed for procedures and natural daylighting when open. The structurally reinforced ceiling supports heavy surgical booms and imaging equipment for a wide variety of minimally invasive robotic surgeries.
