Wayne Arriaga
Architectural Specifications Writer
I value being a well-rounded professional, so early in my career I explored as many different areas of architecture practice that I could and found I truly loved spec writing. Since I have a breadth of experience, I’m able to understand what other architectures may need or could be overlooking to make a project more successful. The overall design of a space is, of course, very interesting to me, but I also like to understand how to turn a concept into a reality through implementing certain materials that will ultimately impact peoples’ lives. You can draw anything you like, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it can be built. Every material in a project needs to have documentation that it’s being used correctly and is up to code to ensure a project is viable and safe. As a Specifications Writer my job is to put skin on ideas so to speak, merging concepts and practicality for a cohesive, inspiring result.
