Great design for me is design that enables people to do what they do better. In my role as a school designer and planner, most of what I do is to help administrators and educators think through the ways that they teach, the ways that we learn, and the role that the physical environment can play in enhancing that interaction. I love to create spaces that are beautiful, inventive, and inspirational. But what is most fulfilling for me is knowing that our work has had a positive impact on the way that students are learning. While I love what I do, I live for my amazing wife, and my two incredible boys. They give me purpose, keep me grounded, and remind me that I don’t really know as much as I thought I did.
