Emily Griffith Opportunity School was founded in 1916 by Emily Griffith, a school teacher who was driven to break barriers to higher education by opening a technical college in Denver "For all who hope to learn." Learn more about the history of the Emily Griffith Opportunity School.
The original, former site of Emily Griffith Opportunity School is now being repurposed into a boutique hotel. As a consultant on the project, EUA led Denver Public Schools (DPS) through listing the building as a historic landmark and helped the new owner navigate the tax credit process. Additionally, EUA consulted with the owner and their design team to ensure the building’s identity was preserved and that significant, historic elements were incorporated in the design.
