MILWAUKEE – Eppstein Uhen Architects held the 12th Annual Beyond Design Bike Tour (BDBT) on August 25, 2016, and the ride was the most successful ride to date, with nearly 400 participants and over 50 sponsors. Every year, the BDBT and the Eppstein Uhen Foundation select local charities that support children and families, advances education, reduces hunger, improves safety or assists in solving other community issues. For 2016, the charity chosen was Schools That Can – Milwaukee (STCM). This charity helps local schools close the achievement gap by fostering great schools for children who need them most. BDBT proceeds will enable STCM to host its first-ever Cross-City-Collaboration with educators in Madison.
Each year, the Eppstein Uhen Foundation strives to surpass the previous year’s fundraising through sponsorships by EUA’s business partners as well as the contributions raised by individual riders and the silent auction. As our most successful ride yet, the 12th Annual Beyond Design Bike Tour raised just over $90,000. Over the past 12 years, the ride has netted over $570,000 in charitable giving to various local Wisconsin organizations.
At the check presentation, Rich Tennessen, EUA’s President said, “When selecting Schools That Can –Milwaukee as our partner charity for the BDBT this year, we quickly realized what a strong organization it is and the great impact they are having throughout our city. We are proud to partner with STCM and present this check for over $60,000.”
With the continued success of the Beyond Design Bike Tour, Eppstein Uhen Architects plans to have a ride again next year, helping a new charity
