MADISON + GREEN BAY, WI (June 2023) — EUA recently presented the non-profit organizations Foster the Village in Green Bay and Madison-based Maydm with grants of $20,000 each. The funds were raised through EUA’s philanthropic arm, the Eppstein Uhen Tennessen Foundation, and will be paid over two years.
Foster the Village (fosterthevillage.org), whose mission is to support children in foster care, will use its grant to purchase new cribs, car seats, shoes, clothing and other necessities. Some of the money will also allow children to participate in extracurricular sports and programming who might otherwise not have access to these activities.
For Maydm (maydm.org), this grant means progressing its mission of helping girls and youth of color in grades 6-12 access and pursue careers in STEM-related fields. The money will support the organization’s STEM Scholar and STEMinism programs, which introduce girls to robotics, virtual reality, and game development.
Each year, EUA employees nominate local non-profits for consideration to receive Eppstein Uhen Tennessen Foundation grants. An internal selection committee reviews each nomination and selects recipients based on their missions and the potential impact on their communities.
