MILWAUKEE – Eppstein Uhen Architects (EUA) announces the promotion of Eric Dufek to Studio Director of the Learning Environments Studio.
With a focus on transformational educational environments, Dufek will engage with clients, partners, and the community to ensure the highest level of service. He succeeds Bob Vajgrt, who previously led the Learning Environments Studio. This fulfills Vajgrt’s original transition plan, identified when he started as Studio Director in 2011.
“Bob has inspired the team to ‘think bigger’; I look forward to continuing this tradition with our 40+ Learning Studio team members,” said Dufek. “My goal is to support the studio and help to grow our talent while continuing to advance learning environments.”
Vajgrt will continue as Senior Project Manager in the Learning Environments Studio Under his leadership, the studio has designed more than $800 million in learning environments.
“I am proud of what our team has accomplished in the past 6 years by elevating the potential of students, staff and communities,” Bob said. “I look forward to focusing more of my time and passion with clients and communities to improve their environments and facilities.”
Dufek has held a series of leadership roles at EUA including Education Environment Planner, Senior Design Architect, K12 Market Leader and Client Executive.
Over his 21 years at EUA, Dufek has earned a strong track record of delivering spaces that effectively communicate the client’s vision while remaining on-budget. He looks forward to helping more schools achieve 21st Century learning spaces with new and existing facilities.
