Ixonia Elementary School is getting closer to completion, as concrete work for the exterior curbs and main entrance has been finished, with the stone having been laid and rolled for the new bus loop, a Facebook post from the Oconomowoc Area School District said.
That new bus loop will have paving done next week; that will be followed by final landscape work. Light poles and the school's new building sign have also been installed.
Inside the school's new addition, final cleaning is almost done and new kitchen equipment was expected to be installed the week of Aug. 6. Drywall hanging is 95 percent complete and the drywall finishing was also expected to be completed the week of Aug. 6. Painting of the new walls and new ceiling grid installation were also expected to begin the same week.
All projects are expected to be completed by the start of the upcoming 2018-19 school year, according to Oconomowoc Area School District communications and marketing manager Jennifer Holland.
A dedication ceremony is planned at the school at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23.
Here is a look at the other projects going on in the district.
New Meadow View Elementary
Three of the new gym's walls have been set and underground plumbing rough-in has begun as well, and masonry work was scheduled to begin during the week of Aug. 6. Wall footings for the school's southwest section have been completed, and 40 percent of the northwest section's footings are complete.
Oconomowoc HS East Campus
Another Facebook post from the district said interior painting and casework installation in the Oconomowoc High School East Campus has started, while floor finishing was expected to begin the week of Aug. 6. Exterior aluminum paneling installation is also nearly complete, and roofing repairs are 95 percent finished.
Both campuses of the high school will see underground electrical lines run along the walking path connecting them, and the week of Aug. 6 was also expected to have the stone laid along the walking path, with paving scheduled for mid-August.
The East Campus project is expected to be completed by the start of the school year in September. An open house is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30. That will also kick off the high school's homecoming week.
Oconomowoc High School Main Campus
Renovations at the main campus of the high school are nearly complete. Concrete polishing and painting were expected to start the week of Aug. 6, as well as specialized electrical and HVAC installation, and overhead door installation.
All window openings for the new Fab Lab are currently being cut and finished. The Oconomowoc School Board approved the project in the spring. That project is renovating existing classroom space to create an engineering, robotics, and fabrication classroom and lab space. It is being funded by the district's operating budget and is not part of the facility referendum projects.
The new space is scheduled to be completed by the start of the new school year, consistent with the facility referendum projects, according to a district update. It will be located at the top of the main staircase, near the field house. It will feature large windows where students and staff can see the work taking place.
A dedication ceremony for the Fab Lab will be held in conjunction with the Main and East Campus project dedication ceremonies Sunday, Sept. 30.
