The Milwaukee Bucks are on target to complete in July the team's new two-story training center that is being built on the western side of North Sixth Street and West Juneau Avenue in downtown Milwaukee. Check out the attached slideshow to get your first look inside the facility as construction crews put the finishing touches on it.
The building will be called the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Sports Science Center and will include a much larger practice floor than the team currently has at its training center in St. Francis. It also will include a large weight room and offices for the team's basketball staff.
The facility also will serve as the hub for new athletic performance research endeavors conducted jointly by the Bucks and Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin. They will include sports medicine and injury prevention research. The training center also will be a destination for community-based athletic camps, coach training and sports education.
J.P. Cullen & Sons Inc. is building the practice facility, which is located northwest of the new $524 million arena being built for the Bucks. The team also is building a new parking structure that is connected to the arena.
Also working on the project are Bucks owners representative Icon Venue Group and architect Eppstein Uhen Architects.
