Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin plans to spend $33 million on a three-story, 100,000-square-foot facility in the city of West Bend.

The facility at 1700 W. Paradise Drive will be anchored by primary care physicians and health care providers in family medicine and internal medicine, Wauwatosa-based Froedtert Health said.

Froedtert is seeking a zoning amendment from the city of West Bend and the request is on the plan commission agenda for Tuesday night. Froedtert anticipates starting construction this summer and completing the project in early 2020, according to a press release.

The new facility will replace an existing outpatient center on the same 10-acre site. The old buildings will be demolished after the new facility is complete.

The new West Bend Health Center will be about four miles north of Froedtert St. Joseph’s Hospital.

The new facility will include space for new services including urgent care, occupational medicine, pain management, and an orthopedic sports and spine center. A pharmacy with drive-through service also will be added.

Froedtert & the Medical College will expand and centralize rehabilitation and sports medicine services, currently offered at several local sites, at the new West Bend facility. Dermatology and pediatric services will be relocated from St. Joseph’s Health Center to the new building.

Several service lines will move from the existing West Bend facility to St. Joseph’s Health Center: gastroenterology, ENT/audiology, nephrology, neurology and rheumatology services. The West Bend Surgery Center will move to a newly-constructed ambulatory surgery center at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Eppstein Uhen Architects of Milwaukee was retained as the architect for the West Bend project. EUA has been the architect for 10 previous Froedtert & the Medical College projects.
