Senior Interior Designer : Milwaukee

Milwaukee, WI

Eppstein Uhen Architects, Inc. (EUA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interior Designer with 10-15+ years of experience in the field.

They should be skilled at storytelling, space planning, finish selections, furniture selection and specification, millwork detailing, and finish/furniture cost estimating. Client management, team mentoring, and excellent presentation skills are also required.

The Fundamentals

  • Ability to take direction on projects, but also able to take project lead
  • Responsible for programming of all phases of the Interior Design process
  • Skilled at space planning, finish selections, furniture selection and specification, ceiling and millwork detailing, and finish/furniture cost estimating
  • Team coordination and collaboration
  • Crafts innovative design concepts tailored to a client’s brand and culture
  • Develops design in 3D and conveys ideas through renderings (hand, Sketchup, Revit, Enscape)
  • Ensures design ideas are constructable, and aligned with client goals and project budget
  • Participates in visioning, programming, and space layouts
  • Prepares contract documents at each phase, including schematic design, design development, and construction documents
  • Coordinates with engineers to ensure that design goals are met
  • Prepares and leads client presentations
  • Responsible for furniture selection and specification, including coordination from selection and production through bidding and installation
  • Participates in creation of division 9 through 12 specifications
  • Responsible for interior detailing (millwork, walls, ceilings, floors) using appropriate techniques in Revit
  • Maintains personal knowledge of current available products and furnishings
  • Provides mentoring and direction to Internal Project Team with respect to design
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and exhibit integrity
  • Exceptional organization, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems proactively and prioritize tasks and assignments
  • Able to prioritize and work effectively to meet deadlines
  • Personal commitment to creativity, design excellence, and sustainability
  • Other duties as assigned 

The Fine Print

  • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Interior Design 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or similar field
  • Certified Interior Designer (NCIDQ exams) required
  • Confident and comfortable speaking with others and presenting ideas 
  • Superb client management skillsExperience in Revit preferred
