Part Time Accounting Assistant

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for various duties including processing, coding, verifying, and inputting invoices for payment. They will also assist with daily accounting activities such as posting cash receipts, making bank deposits, and maintaining accounting files.

Overview:

Eppstein Uhen Architects, Inc. (EUA) is seeking to fill a Part Time (20-24 hours per week) position in our Accounting Department. The Accounting Assistant is responsible for various duties including processing, coding, verifying, and inputting invoices for payment. They will also assist with daily accounting activities such as posting cash receipts, making bank deposits, and maintaining accounting files. The Accounting Assistant will report to the CFO and help with special projects and perform other miscellaneous duties as needed.

The Fundamentals:

  • Open and process invoices for payment
  • Process and prepare A/P check runs
  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Post cash receipts against Accounts Receivable ledger
  • Assist with monthly general ledger reconciliation/research
  • Assist with the processing of time sheets
  • Assist with processing credit card payments and expense reports
  • Maintain accounting files
  • Other duties as assigned
  • This is a part time hourly position (20-24 hours per week)
  • Able to meet specific deadlines with accuracy
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and exhibit integrity
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems proactively and prioritize tasks and assignments
  • Other duties as assigned

The Fine Print:

  • Associates Degree or beyond in Accounting, or related experience is required
  • Several years of experience in a professional office setting
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products, notably Excel and Word
  • Demonstrated aptitude with numbers
  • Experience in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry a plus
