Jeff Bogart and Jackie Posselt of Eppstein Uhen Architects (EUA) received a Platinum Award and Gold Award, respectively, at the Wisconsin Chapter of American Society of Interior Designers’ (ASID) 41th Annual Design Excellence Awards.
The March 23rd event at Discovery World, in Milwaukee, celebrated the most outstanding interior design projects in Wisconsin across thirty-one categories – including commercial, residential and student awards. Winning projects are recognized with either a Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze Design Excellence Award. Bogart was presented with the highest and most prestigious award of the evening, the only Platinum Design Excellence Award recognized this year.
EUA’s Platinum Award winning project, Ovation 309, was recognized by ASID for its exceptional elegance and sophistication beyond ordinary expectations of the residential marketplace. Ovation 309 wanted to redefine urban living in downtown Madison and create a strong connection to the city with its expansive views and full-height exterior glass overlooking the street activity. A range of apartment options from intimate, efficient studios to expansive two-story lofts, coupled with access to luxury amenities like a 13th floor, Sky Club with panoramic views of the Capitol offer residents the ultimate in urban living.
EUA’s Gold Award winning project in the Office/Corporate category, Godfrey & Kahn, was recognized by ASID for its modern, art gallery aesthetic that accentuates exterior views of Lake Michigan and downtown Milwaukee. Godfrey & Kahn’s new design is a transformation from a traditional hierarchical office structure to a collaborative and social environment. Low panel workstations, a private terrace and a work café encourage teams to cross-pollinate throughout the office. This forward-thinking culture shift rejuvenates their brand and will aid in attracting and recruiting the best talent.
“Design excellence occurs in the presence of three conditions; talent, opportunity, and support. We as design professionals are talented, creative, and full of potential. To realize that potential, we must have opportunity. Opportunity most often takes the form of a great client. One who possesses both the desire, and the resources, to challenge and inspire us to do our best work. We cannot achieve this alone, it also takes the efforts and support of a great project team, skilled contractors, and reliable industry partner,” remarked Bogart after winning the ASID Wisconsin Design Excellence Platinum Award.
