Eppstein Uhen Architects Holds 13th Annual Beyond Design Bike Tour (BDBT)

Eppstein Uhen Architects (EUA) will hold the 13th Annual Beyond Design Bike Tour (BDBT) at the Concord House in Sullivan, WI on August 17. Over 300 business leaders and community partners will put on their helmets to ride in support of REAP Food Group and Groundwork Milwaukee.

Each year, the BDBT raises funds through sponsorships by EUA’s business partners as well as the contributions raised by individual riders. Over the past 12 years, the ride has netted over $570,000 in charitable giving.

REAP Food Group is a Madison-based nonprofit organization building a healthy, just and sustainable local food system in Southern Wisconsin. REAP's Farm to School program is transforming school food in Madison with the inclusion of fresh, local produce in school meals and engaging classroom lessons for elementary students and hands-on culinary lessons for middle & high school students. These lessons cultivate healthy eating habits, develop cooking skills, expose students to new foods and provide well-rounded knowledge of the local food system.

Groundwork Milwaukee is a Milwaukee-based environmental nonprofit organization. Their Young Farmers program offers elementary and middle school aged youth an opportunity to learn about urban agriculture through experimental based learning. Young Farmers become stewards of their own garden site, learning all about farming techniques and ecosystems.

“We love organizing this ride every year to benefit amazing charities looking to make a difference in the community,” said EUA’s President Rich Tennessen. “I’d like to especially thank our sponsors for their contributions and commitment to giving back. We continue to see incredible support year after year and the ride would not be possible without it.”

The route will begin and end at the Concord House in Sullivan, WI and the cyclists will ride a 20-, 37-, 70- or 103-mile route. Rest areas along the route will keep cyclists energized and a post-ride event will be held at the Concord House offering dinner, drinks and networking to participants. The 13th annual Beyond Design Bike Tour (BDBT) is made possible in part by the contributions of valued business partner sponsors. The BDBT is a fundraising / networking event run by the Eppstein Uhen Foundation. This 501(c)(3) charity foundation is focused on improving the quality of life in local communities. Since its inception, the foundation and EUA have donated time and dollars to approximately 100 nonprofit local organizations.

Special thanks to the 50+ Major, Participating, and Contributing sponsors. Many of these sponsors have supported the ride during all 13 years of the BDBT’s existence.
