Eppstein Uhen Architects is pleased to present our 5th Annual Beyond Design Bike Tour! This year, our event comes in the midst of something affectionately known as the "economic downturn." But we aren't letting a tough economy slow our pace — and we hope it won't slow yours either. However, we do realize that many of our partners and clients are not in a position to support the ride and our charities to the same level as you have been in years past. That's why we're rolling back prices and "right-sizing" the ride for 2009.

Budget-Conscious Pricing
  • Individual cost minimum of $100 raised (if more than two riders want to participate from the same company you will need to utilize a team sponsorship)
  • 2-person team sponsorship : $500
  • 4-person team sponsorship : $750
  • 10-person team sponsorship : $1,950 (includes jersey and logo on jersey)
  • Platinum Sponsor : $5,000 (call to inquire about benefits and recognition)

The Beyond Design Bike Tour 2009 takes place Wednesday, September 16. The ride will start and end at the Country Springs Hotel & Conference Center in Pewaukee, WI. There will be mileage options from approximately 20 miles all the way to 100 miles, so riders of all abilities are welcome.

Good people, doing good work

Thanks to our sponsors and participants, EUA has been able to help fund a variety of organizations in Milwaukee, Madison and Wisconsin — organizations that work to improve the quality of life and health for all Wisconsin residents.

The Eppstein Uhen Foundation was established in honor of EUA's 100th anniversary, and is focused on improving the quality of life in the communities in which we live and work. The proceeds from the Beyond Design Bike Tour are divided evenly between the Foundation and its grant recipients.

For the Beyond Design Bike Tour 2009 grant recipient, the Eppstein Uhen Foundation has selected the Backpack Buddies program, an initiative of America's Second Harvest of Wisconsin. Approximately 1/3 of the net proceeds will go to the Eppstein Uhen Foundation, with the rest going to Backpack Buddies. Schools in the Milwaukee and Madison area will be targeted to receive backpacks filled with schools supplies for kids who would otherwise not be able to afford them. Our goal is to provide over 1,000 kids in need with the supplies they need to help them succeed in school!

In previous years the Beyond Design Bike Tour has improved our communities in the following ways:

2009 – The Eppstein Uhen Foundation used funds raised by the ride to donate a total of $40,000 to the Movin' Minds program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the College for Kids program University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

2007 – The Eppstein Uhen Foundation used funds raised by the ride to donate $50,000 to Milwaukee's Safe and Sound program, which fights crime and violence in low income areas of the city.

2006 – The ride doubled in size and Eppstein Uhen Architects worked with sponsors to raise more than $10,000 each to two charities — Atwood Community Center in Madison, and Notre Dame Middle School in Milwaukee.

2005 – In its inaugural year, the ride raised money for WasteCap Wisconsin and the Bike Federation of Wisconsin — making Wisconsin a better place to bike for riders of all ages and abilities.
